Brunning & Price pub that was easily the best of 10 Hampshire pubs I visited last Friday.
A large car park wraps around a large barn-like building that apparently serves as the function room. The millpond is also adjacent to the car park.
The main building contains the mill wheel itself, which can be viewed from the downstairs area, either when seated down there or whilst visiting the toilets.
The ground floor area is also quite spacious and homely, with a small bar area and rooms leading off in both directions.
Surprisingly for a Brunning & Price establishment, there were no diners at all, just a handful of drinkers. Ales were Titanic Plum Porter, Lister's Best Bitter, Frome Funky Monkey & Dorking Winter's Coming. The cider was Lilley's Mulled Cider, which was being served warm.
Service was friendly and professional. Another good example of this chain.

Originally a 17th century water mill on the banks of the River Whitewater, more latterly a Bluebeckers resaraunt,it's now a Brunning and Price Pub/resaraunt. There is a central bar area with conventional seating around the room for drinking or dining use. To the left of the bar area are some stairs down to a restaurant proper,in here you can view the glass enclosed working water wheel, as the river flows through and under the building. Back up in the bar area we find six handpumps, a couple of real Ciders, Old Rosie being one the was by Westons but I didn't note the variety, ales were Timothy Taylors Boltmaker,Tripple fff Dazed And Confused and Brunning and Price Bitter, which after investigation it was discovered is brewed by Pheonix Brewery from Lancashire, Cottage Red & Ruth ,the last pump was blank but lines being cleaned while I was there.Outside is an extensive and very nice riverside garden and seating areas. Its not really a place I would return to for a beer alone but would be a good choice for a food led get together.
