A multi roomed mill conversion dating from the 17th century and as you would expect rather olde worldy, not a bad thing, a decent sized beer garden to the rear on the banks of the river Tillingbourne, more a stream really, this then disappears under the pub, there is more outside seating to the front of the pub on a patio.Three cask beers were available on my visit,a house beer, Brunning And Price Original, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Goffs Galahad,I tried the latter and although not really to my taste was in good condition.
Not a bad little spot.

Very much like this well kept former mill, under which the river Tillingbourne flows, and you can still see the waterwheel through windows in the middle of the pub. For some years it was maintained as tea rooms, and is now a Home Counties pub. It is well worth a wander round its various rooms and crannies.

Atmosphere felt very warm and welcoming on a November day, and service friendly and efficient. The four hand pumps offered WJ King Horsham Best, Marlow’s Rebellion Handyman, Old Rosie cider, and another beer from a brewery I’d never heard of and can’t recall. We settled comfortably in a pew in the corner, and the Horsham Best turned out to be a pretty agreeable pint.

We didn’t eat here, but the menu looked interesting, albeit at the sort of prices you might expect for the area. Would certainly come again, to eat and/or drink.

Not quite sure what to make of this place. It is actually in a former watermill, complete with river running beneath, and mill wheel (under restoration) in the middle of the pub, which rambles through a glorious series of rooms. It seems well run, with an enthusiastic staff, and has several interesting ales on offer. But the restaurant presence is a bit too much for it to be a welcoming pub. Worth a try though. especially if eating.
