Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Newbridge
Imposing mock-Tudor roadhouse, now an uninspiring Stonehouse outlet unfortunately. The multi-room interior has lost almost all character it might once have had, with just some of the faux-timber ceilings still retained. The furniture and decor is naturally as anonymous as you might fear... Even the Doom Bar clips on two of the three handpumps proved to be a mirage, so it had to be the keg Marston's 61 Deep (£3.20) in preference to the dreaded John Smiths.

A detached Crown Carvery chain pub and eatery, with patio area. It is a 1920/30s estate pub, built as a part of the development of the area at that time and is in a mock-Tudor style; in white and black beam, with decorative chimney stacks, leaded windows and projecting upper gallery. The interior has a couple of areas. To the side and back is an L-shaped dining area, which i didn't really see other than to pop my head around the corner. At the front is an L-shaped bar and dining overflow area. The decor is grey, patterned wallpaper, with part beamed ceiling and wood corbels to keep some Tudor feel indoors. There is a small fireplace, with a burner fire and some old photos on the walls, however, these become a little arty as you head towards the dining area - where the two meet is a kid's grabbing machine. The music was general and at a decent level and the TV had Wimbledon on. The service was fine enough and the clientele mainly mature, and family based. I didn't eat, so can't comment on that. Beer; usual tap stuff with Marston's EPA and an OK Bombardier on handpull. The positive is this place has a separate food and bar area, so you don't feel out of place just having a drink. A place to go with the family for din-dins really.

Nice half timber building built between the wars to replace a smaller pub on the other side of the road, it is now part of the Crown Carveries group. The interior has two rooms, on the right of the building is a traditional public bar which has an L shaped bar counter in the back left corner, a brick fire place with a small stove in the middle of the right hand wall, wooden beams and pillars, a large flat screen TV on the back wall and a framed drawing of the old pub that was demolished. The left hand side of the building is a large L shaped dining lounge that bends right round behind the back of the pub, at the front of the room is a small area with a bar counter, this is used for people who are waiting for a table to become available as they do not take bookings. The lounge is on two levels with a nice double sided fire place in the middle and the serving counter for the carvery on the right around the corner. The décor is fairly traditional with lots of wood and old photos of Wolverhampton on the walls, there is a small patio at the front of the building with a few picnic tables.
Regular ales are Green King IPA and Marston’s Pedigree with no changing guest beers. The beer selection is unadventurous but usually kept ok.
This is a good popular pub, the public bar is a nice place just for a drink. I have found the carvery to be of good quality with three meats and several choices of vegetables and it’s reasonably priced at £3.60 during the week and £7 on Sundays. The carvery naturally gets very busy at the weekend so expect a bit of a wait especially if you have a large group. I occasionally take the family here for a decent meal and shall continue to do so.
