Soup Dragon left this review about TC's Sports Bar

A part of Truro City's football ground with access from both inside and outside the ground, but does become a 'sports bar' during the week. It is a rather striaght-forward white rendered low-level building. The beer garden turned out to be the pitch :-)

The interior of the simple open plan room is rather clinical; white and wood panel walls and ceiling, with a wood floor. There is a sofa area, which doesnt seem too footbally and there was food and things behind a partition at one end, but this it appeared later was for the VIPs (no, Soupy wasn't invited). Interest is supplied by the trophy cabinets and pictures of old teams on the walls. The place features large screen TVs (it didn't show a replay of the Dorchester's goal), pool table and a couple of dart boards. The service was fine and the clientele - well, it was match day, but there was no feeling of drunken supporters here to make you feel uncomfortable.

Beer; usual tap stuff with a reasonable St Austell Tribute on handpull.

I have been to worse club-houses. It is fine for the game, but couldn't really see myself visiting other than to watch a live match - one for the Truro supports to invest in the club funds. Really enjoyed my visit to the match despite Truro losing - i wish them luck for the season.

TC's is basically the clubhouse for Truro City FC but is open some non match days to allcomers, albeit the opening hours are a bit selective (Mon-Thurs 5.00-9.00, closed Fri, Sat and Sun unless there is a match or function) which is a bit strange for a place that sells itself as a sports bar as it is shut when most football, rugby etc is being screened. As a football ground bar it is one of the better ones I have encountered at this level with quick service, plenty of space and the bonus of a decent quality Tribute on hand pump at a very reasonable price.

The interior is was a bit bright and monotonous but functional for its uses with a pool table, 2 dart boards, multiple Plasma screens, big screen and a dance floor area. 2 well stocked trophy cabinets highlight the club's recent successes. Seating is a bit restricted on match days as one end is reserved for visiting dignitries and a sofa area takes up quite a bit of space in front of the bar but there wasn't any of the hustle and bustle that I usually experience at small grounds. A decent enough place on match day but one would question why it bothers the rest of the week when the town is such a short walk away and the opening hours are so restrictive.
