Has been brought by the Co-op , want to turn it into a shop , there is a Co-op two minutes walk down the road ! local residents are protesting and the council are oppossed , not sure any of them have got a hope in hell with present laws in place .

A generic 60s looking, cream painted brick, Marston's pub with patio area.

The interior is a large L-shaped room, with the bar to the left on entry and the lounge in front, for food - we didn't eat so can't comment on that. The decor is red, cream and wood panel, with a white ceiling and a basic fireplace feature. The few general prints on the walls leave the place looking a little bare. There is pool and darts in the bar, and several silent TVs were showing a mix of an old western and golf. The music was charty and slightly on the loud side. The service was fine, the clientele small.

Beer; tap stuff, there were 5 handpulls, but only the Ringwood 49er and the Banks's MILD were on, both were passable.

A bit of a non-entity really. So few people in a large pub made it feel a bit soulless. The real ale fan would simply go to the White Hart over the road.

Very big pub with a tap room to the left and a huge lounge straight ahead. Tap room has a pool table, darts and a quiz machine. Lounge has banquette seating round the outside and dining tables/chairs in the middle. Does very reasonably priced food every day. Six handpumps on the bar but only 4 beers on tap, Banks’s Bitter and Original plus Jennings Snecklifter and Marston’s “John Marston’s Golden Ale”. Had a pint of the Golden Ale which was very good, better than on previous visits when the beer quality was only OK. It’s always been almost empty when I’ve been in on a midweek evening, it may be busier at weekends, if it’s not it’ll be in trouble soon.
