Being airside I wasn’t expecting much from Pilots Bar and Grill. Therefore I wasn’t disappointed to find a characterless U shaped bar/restaurant with no distractions other than a crying baby and over keen staff. To be fair the staff were very polite, but I did get a bit sick of saying “I’m fine thanks”. Premium keg products were available from the bar (£4.95 a pint) that also had some unwelcome fruit flies hovering about. I learnt from the menu that food is available all day and a burger was priced at £13.75 + £4.00 for chips. Want bacon and cheese? Add another £3.95. So £26.65 for a bacon cheeseburger with chips and a pint… Ouch!!!
This was my least favourite T5 bar that I visited whilst passing through on a recent Saturday afternoon.

A typical airport bar, wine and megakeg available to complement your overpriced snack (tapas seems to be in vogue at the moment). No real ale. It is nothing more or less than you would expect and cannot provide that last real ale fix before flying.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about V Bar
Small airside bar, with just a basic range of drinks. No real ale, so went for the Bass Smooth (£2.20, half).

Small cafe bar at south end of Terminal 5 building. OK if waiting at adjacent gate, otherwise the Crown Rivers is much better.
