On my visit a couple of days ago they had on Bombardier and Bridge Ale, a rebadged Elgoods beer, at £4.35 a pint. But nothing else changed.

Only Hobgoblin on this time, after a considerable queue, and Rex's comment about its not being cheap is still valid. The food was tolerable but not great, and the service was abyssmal. Clearly the 3rd World standard of customer service is there to inure peopel to what is to come in some of the rougher parts of the planet to which you can fly from this Terminal. If it weren't for the Hobgoblin I would be heading straight for the Lounge. Sorry to say this bar has peaked.

To find the Bridge Bar when you exit the security area – probably into the duty free shop – turn sharp right and continue down the right hand side of the concourse. It’s definitely improved a bit since the previous reviewer’s visit, with both London Pride and Hobgoblin available on my recent visit. Of course it’s not cheap – a pint of Pride and a cappuccino cost £6.45 – but at least there’s now a better drink selection. It’s still horrendously busy – there was some sort of managed queuing arrangement for the dining tables at the back, and some unnecessary pop music being played that couldn’t be heard properly over the ambient noise of conversation. It’s clearly not as bad as it was, but a ‘spoons would be a welcome addition to this terminal as there are obviously sufficient customers wanting to eat and drink to warrant another outlet of this type.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bridge Bar and Eating House

Dreadful airport bar (formerly an O'Neills) serving no real ale (despite having three handpumps clearly visible to fool passing mugs) and nothing vaguely interesting in bottle form either. Avoid unless really thirsty, and I suggest that you stop off at the Three Bells before you go through security instead. (NB - Review dates from October 2009.)
