Another upmarket pub, as you might expect from its location, with lots of designer antique trimmings, even a slight rustic feel. Despite being strongly food-led, there is plenty of room for drinkers and is is pleasantly laid back. Quite a nice, relaxing place for drinking, so long as money is no object.

This is now a Young’s pub, with the usual sort of range of ales on offer, but with Twickenham Sundancer as a guest ale. The Sundancer was £1.85 a half (£3.70 a pint?) – an expensive pricing policy which seems to be a feature of guest ales in Young’s pubs. It is a good drink though. Being an upmarket Young’s pub food is obviously available all day, with main course around the £11 - £12 mark. Sandwiches are available until 5.00 PM, and range between £5.95 to £8.50. This includes an apple and some crisps though, with the option to upgrade the crisps to chips for another quid.
There are some tables and chairs outside, by the main road. Inside it’s got something of the hotel lounge look about it. The furnishings are comfortable enough, being a mix of armchairs and normal tables and chairs. There are some large mirrors on the walls, and other decor includes sprigs of lavender attached to posts and light fittings. The walls are mainly exposed brickworks, as are the large pillars, with some pastel wallpaper here and there. It’s a comfortable enough pub if you like these uber upmarket places (with prices to match) but I found it just a bit too “corporate” looking for my taste. The ale was in good nick though.
