E TA left this review about The Horseshoe Bar

Previously an off-licence built into a block of 1930s flats, this pub was licenced in 2001 and now provides an oasis of normality in an otherwise strange area of Outer London. The single long bar has a parquet floor, a brick hearth hiding a modern fireplace and a large selection of porcelain jugs hanging from fake beams and joists, which all contrives quite well to give it the feel of a proper London pub, which it isn't. It also has TV screens and gaming machines, but these are innocuous. Toasted sandwiches are available, but that's it as far as food goes. The staff were pleasant, and the locals welcoming. Only one ale on, Doombar, which was reasonably well kept. I'd be happy to drop in for a pint any time when passing.
