Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rose & Crown

Popular food-led pub with an attractive façade obscured by a (temporary?) marquee to provide more outdoor seating following the end of the Covid-19 lockdown. The bar area is very traditional whereas the 'L'-shaped side dining areas are lighter (apart from the black-painted exposed timberwork). With three of four handpumps in use, I found the Greene King IPA thankfully supplemented by two Wye Valley beers: HPA and Butty Bach (£3.40).

Will Larter left this review about The Rose & Crown

This is a lovely old building that has been well described by Oggwyn below. My impression was that some internal rearrangement has taken place over the years, but it's been tastefully done, leaving an overall feel of a well-loved, well-used building. The landlord was welcoming and poured an excellent half of Hobsons Best for me without the use of the sparkler, which makes a pleasant change. There was also Town Crier, Butty Bach and something called Festival Ale (whose provenance I was unable to determine, but it was not the Burton Bridge beer of that name). A very pleasant stop for me on my cycle tour of the area, and I was able to avoid a brief shower by making use of one of the umbrellas in the tables at the front of the pub, so thanks for that.

Old pub just across the bridge from Tenbury on the main Ludlow road , the main entrance is through ancient narrow double doors with an equally ancient iron latch , this leads into the traditional bar area , there is lots of old wood and bare stone walls , the counter is straight ahead , to the right is an old fireplace and a doorway into the games area with a dartboard and pool table , to the left throgh a stone archway is another old bar counter , currently out of use although the back bar is being used to display the pubs range of tee shirts , this leads to a more modern cafe style dining area with another large old fireplace , you then turn right into an information area with lots of local tourist and CAMRA info , this then leads to a small lounge served from the back of the main bar , the place is a good mix of old and new
Usual taps plus 5 handpulls with local ales on , i tried an Enville Ginger and Ludlow Gold , both spot on , it was pretty quiet on my wednesday lunchtime visit but the barstaff were friendly and a couple of old boys were real characters .
This is a decent pub , well worth a visit if your in this part of the world
