I too, have not found this pub open, either on Friday 25th October 2013 or Saturday 24th October 2015.

A comment rather than a review. This Edwardian hotel stand on a part of the old Aston lower grounds (a pleasure ground - less so since the Villa took residence!). I have been to this pub (hotel) on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday night, as well as Friday at 6pm - it has not been open. I have been assured by a die-hard Villa fan that it was open last match day. I can only assume it is open for home games, or has very restrictive opening!

I called in as part of my Birmingham postcode crawl, and this was my B6 choice. It is a large building close to Aston Villa ground, and looks a bit run down inside. Workmen in looked as though they were working on the heating so maybe having a refurb. It is interesting inside with raised seating areas and pillars. Only real ale was Greene King IPA but it was good beer. Appears to have lively entertainment from adverts around the pub.
