At the time of my visit this was the only pub in Longnor, with the Crewe and Harpur long since converted to holiday flats, the Grapes having been semi-derelict for years (though work was going on and a long-rumoured reopening seemed possible) and the Horseshoe for sale. So it's good to report that this is a pleasant pub and seems to be going strong, though a little more in the way of choice and competition would be welcome. This is a typical Peak District stone-built pub with classic pub furnishings, and most of the internal space given over to dining tables. There is a decent space around the bar for drinkers, though, and my impression is that the pub is not simply for tourists. There were three beers from the Robinsons stable available: Trooper, Unicorn and Wizard. I had the Wizard, a new one for me, and as I recall it had a bit of maltiness about it, a pleasant change from the bland nothingness I've come to expect from Robinsons.

Picturesque old Robinson's pub in remote village. The original building houses a comfortable central bar with a games room to the side. Opening off to the other side are a couple of larger rooms laid out for dining. Three handpumped beers only from Robinsons but vary from the range. Bed and breakfast accommodation is available in the building across the road.

The Cheshire cheese is a nice looking stone built pub that is in the middle of Longnor.
There are a few seats at the front of the pub and once inside we went in a smartish room that was fairly comfortable, this pub is a Robinsons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Robinsons bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Robinsons mild.
I thought this was quite a nice pub to have a few drinks in.
