custodian 42 left this review about The Watermill

Sprawling place with a café to the left and the right of the room extends for diners from the lodges. Bar as you come in. Only Black Sheep on hand pump - rest keg including Goose Island IPA.

Old Boots left this review about The Watermill

Reached up a long winding, single track road from the A61 near Busby Stoop, across the fields and past some fishing lakes and wooden lodges, the Watermill is a modern building with a Bar/Grill well known locally for its carvery. The building is shared with a cafe mainly for anglers, they also use the bar for casual drinking. On entering there is a long bar and the room is mainly given over to dining tables, there is a comfortable seating area at one end with views and access to a pleasant water garden with waterfall, pond and wooden bridge, there is also a patio beside the pool. The bar serves John Smiths Cask from one of the three handpulls and there is a selection of kegs, from the same stable, Fosters, John Smith's Smooth plus the usual Carling, Guinness, Strongbow, and Grolsch. It can get very busy on Sundays with the carvery, the place being popular with families. The young attractive staff are mainly employed by table waiting but it doesn't take too long to get served.
