Soup Dragon left this review about Lakeside

A detached and new Table Table pub and eatery that services the Premier Inn next door. The place is in undressed brick and a green wood planking effect, with a patio area.

The interior is an open plan space, though partitioned into areas, with the foody area taking one half and the lounge the other, though of course, menus were available for inspection here as well. The décor is typical of this chain; red, cream, dark red, wood panel, pink and red painted wood panel and of course, white. There are abstract pictures on the walls and sculpture, vases and other bits of ephemera on the bookcase shelving. There is also a wine display. High stools, sofas, comfy seats and so forth are the norm in these places, along with an almost clinical wood serving bar. The music was general pop stuff and at a decent level. I didn’t see the TV they normally have. The service was really good here and the place seemed genuinely popular with mainly diners, but a few drinkers too.

Beer; tap stuff with Banks’s Bitter and a decent St Austell Tribute on handpull

These places are anathema to a traditionalist like me, but the service and a better choice of beer made this a far better experience than I had expected. If you like this kind of thing, then this is worth a look, best of this chain I have visited.
