This traditional pub is in the oldest street in Edinburgh's Georgian New Town. Hanging flower baskets adorn the exterior along with signs advertising the what the pub has available. The interior has large ornated mirrors and an open working fireplace. Plenty of seating in a Chesterfield style buttoned leather. There are signs above the bar advertising the drinks and prices available. There is also a small patio beer garden at the rear. At the time of visiting on offer were Ossian from the Inveralmond brewery - Jarl from Fyne Ales - Belhaven Best - Asahi – Japan’s number 1 beer - Guinness extra cold - St Mungo lager which was awarded the bronze medal at the 2019 Scottish beer awards and not forgetting the West of Scotland lager (Albeit in an Edinburgh pub) Tennent’s lager. There is midweek live music.

One i had missed on my many visits to Edinburgh had a pint off INNS- GUNS 6.6% Was very dark and sweet one pint was enough it was too warm thats the only thing with drinking real ale in the middle of an heatwave the lad behind the bar was trying to push C D he is a bit of an entertainer never heard of him. The pub was ok just the beer was too warm Wife was on larger and that was also warm so its a place to call in the winter will call back
