Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Chequers Inn

Attractive old Shepherd Neame pub, hidden away in a small village deep in the Kent countryside south of Sittingbourne. Retains two separate bars, although the larger one to the left is really a restaurant, and there is another dining room up a few steps behind the public bar to the right of the entrance. Front patio area and rear beer garden. Three handpumps on each counter, but I was perhaps a bit unlucky to find just Master Brew (£3.60) on (because reversed clips for Spitfire and Bishops Finger could be seen, and there are several more for seasonal brews displayed on the bar-back).

As described below, this is a typical classic Sheps pub, high on the North Downs.Whitewashed brick, under a tilehung roof, the interior is on the regional historical and heritage list, run by CAMRA. On our wintry December visit, we sat in the attractive front bar and enjoyed the heat of the woodburner. Despite assurances on the pub's website and Whatpub that food is served from noon to nine on a Saturday,we were disappointed to discover that there was nowt to eat when we arrived mid afternoon.
I'm no longer a lover of Master Brew:however on this visit I found it delicious, without that harshness that many dislike. In addition, there was a Christmas Ale from Sheps, together with the usual keggery. We really enjoyed our brief visit- a return is planned.

Extremely pleasant village pub owned by Shephard and Neame, consisting of two main bars. It's in the centre of the village, but parking is not a problem. The saloon bar is comfortable, and a good place to spend a quiet evening. The public bar has bare boards, a pool table, a piano, dartboard and gaming machine. Free wifi is available. Two ales on, Masterbrew and Bishop's Finger. I had a pint of the Nun's Delight, which was in excellent condition. Highly recommended for its beer, ambiance and hospitality.
