Steve of N21 left this review about The Old White Horse Inn

The Old White Horse Inn is situated around the corner from the Angel Inn in the Brecon Beacons national park, and therefore also close to the Brecon Waterfalls Centre and associated Waterfall walks.
The building dates from around 1600 and was a former coaching house which found use as a shop and B&B before becoming a pub in the early 1960s. There is a main bar which is subdivided into two sections by a large stone fireplace, the first section housing the bar and then the oak beamed section beyond the fireplace having additional seating and a large screen flat tele which was off for our visit. And then there was a smaller lounge/restaurant section to the right of the main entrance.
A nice looking white building, the end wall was draped in an enormous Doombar banner as we approached. But when we entered there were two ale taps with one in operation dispensing Cwmw from the Evan Evans brewery. Didn’t stop the wife asking for half of Doombar though and the amusing reply from the barman was “Oh we used to sell that, but we got this beer in and it sells a lot better”. I do like a bit of honesty from the barkeep .. :-)
Nice little pub and certainly a friendlier atmosphere than the Angel round the corner. If you’re doing the waterfall walks then worth popping in , but neither are special enough to make a detour for.
