The Blacksmiths Inn is a quirky pub with much more character that the other pub offering in Ninfield. However, the opening hours are more restrictive, as per below. Located centrally on the rear wall is the bar that supports three hand pumps. During a recent Saturday afternoon visit these were drawing Harveys Best and Wadworths 6X (third pump unused). The available keg was Birra Moretti, Fosters, Guinness, Maltsmiths IPA and Strongbow Cloudy Apple. Food is available, in fact the seating in the right-hand side of the pub felt more like an airy dining area. Opposite the bar under the front windows are a couple of high tables made from old planks and either side of the entrance are bookcases lined with old curios. To the left of the pub are a couple of tables. I didn’t spot a television, but there was some low background music playing. I also spotted an advertisement for an upcoming quiz; table booking was advised. I got the impression the events go together with dining.
Outside is a car park and three covered picnic tables are found adjacent to the entrance. I found the service to be polite, but I’ll not be trekking to Ninfield for a beer again.

Of Ninfield's two pubs, The Blacksmiths Arms seems preferable to me, with its emphasis on good ale and locally sourced food. One handpump serves up Harveys, the other 3 offer a variety of micro-brewed beers, with a Sussex bias. Meals are excellent quality and very reasonably priced.
With friendly staff and locals, I'd be happy to make it my local (if I lived considerably closer!).

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Blacksmiths Inn
This most be one of the most dog-friendly pubs in the country - all of the other customers seemed to have at least one with them. Fairly basic decor in the bar. Reasonable pint of Harveys.
