Jays has been closed for a while now and the place is "to let". The future doesn't look bright at the moment!

An end-terraced white rendered pub. The rather plain look with modern replacement windows hides the fact that the pub is somewhat older, judging by the moulded cornice and more decorative lintels over the upper windows.

The interior has a single room, with the bar facing you on entry. The room is in red and white (some painted brick), with fake beams on the walls, as well as a white and fake beam ceiling. The flooring is mainly patterned carpet, with a wood dance floor area at one end where the sound system was set-up. There is a dart board at one end and a pool table at the other. There is a large pull-down screen. The music was charty based and at a decent level considering it advertises a prolific amount of karaoke. Decoration was supplied by beer posters on the walls. The service was friendly, as were the few locals in.

Beer; all tap stuff, no real ale - had Hydes MILD at £2.10, which was different and decent enough.

A basic pub that is aimed at the karaoke and music crowd. Friendly enough at my visit, but one for the locals.
