Street corner pub ,but only the doors and window frames are original, once inside the open plan interior is corporate and dull with modern glazed tiling trying too hard to give some character.Food is available from Coop, not the Cooperative Movement but a local firm offering mainly fried chicken.A USP here is a large bottle shop with a screen dispaying the wares but without pricing.
The bar has very boring kegs and the three handpumps were offering an Old Rosie cider, Doom Bar and TT Landlord (warm, clear yet musty ,NBSS 1.5) The muzak was annoyingly loud.
No reason to revisit, there are better options quite close.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Fox

Corner pub with some mid-brown tiling on the ground-floor facades but little else to note within the thoroughly remodelled and refurbished interior. Mostly semi-modern furniture and decorative features limited to the feature ceiling lights, a few curios on the bar-back and a freestanding cabinet-style bottled drinks fridge. Still, two of three handpumps were operational - offering Pride and Sharp's Atlantic (£4.60) - and the place was reasonably busy on a dull Tuesday post-work visit.

It would seem nothing has changed since Mr Rattus' visit in 2009. The colour scheme is sea green and white in an almost completely stark pub. Mid-evening, when all around were full of customers, this place just had two drinkers aside from the two of us, which is no surprise given how un-homely is the place.
Ales: one blank pump, one dispensing Sharp's Doom Bar, reversed, and a third delivering Sharp's Cornish Coaster at £2.20 a half which is what you expect in the area though was a bit lifeless, a bit like the barmaid.
In summary then, I really wouldn't bother coming here again, especially given that it refers to the lavatories/loos/toilets as REST ROOMS!!!

Rex Rattus left this review about The Fox

There are few vestiges of its original pub character remaining, such as the cast iron pillars for example. I'm not sure about the cut and etched glass windows – if they are modern reproductions they are pretty good ones. A bare-boarded floor, wooden tables and chairs with no padding – there's nothing soft and warm about this place. The champagne bucket and basket of lemons on the bar give the game away. Harvey's Bitter at £3.40 a pint is also a clue (they also had Pedigree on) – it's a gastro-pub. The only décor on the walls seem to be chalkboards advertising the wine lists and bar menu, plus some sort of mural depicting a bloke sitting in a chair having a fag, with a dog tethered in the doorway. The pub's typical of the breed. It's not the sort of place that I feel comfortable just sitting having a pint.
