Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lawrence Sheriff

Large, single-room establishment with a few side booths along the wall opposite the bar. Otherwise, the only points to note are the 10 handpumps which offer a better choice of real ale than can be found in most Lloyds No. 1 outlets. My pint of the guest Oakham Musashi (£2.30) was also in good condition.

Named after the founder of nearby Rugby School, this is a Lloyds no 1 part of the 'spoons empire but with an unusually wide choice of real ale from 10 handpumps.Besides the standard Old Speckled Hen,Abbott and Ruddles Bitter there were welcome guests in the form of Oakham Tera and Bishop's Farewell,Mondue Workie Ticket, and Exmoor Beast and Gold.A very fine selection.
The pub itself has two entrances in High Street and Sheep Street while the smallish bar is in the centre of the building along one wall. The fit out is more classy than a standard 'spoons with darker carpets, more velour in the seating booths and smarter chairs but the Lloyds no 1 concept also means there is musak, being played modestly early evening but also a mixing desk which might pressage greater volume as the evening wears on.Three fruit machines had a prominent position. The value meal menu is available until 10pm.
Worth including on any crawl around the town centre given the ale range, but dont expect a traditional pub atmosphere.

This Lloyds no 1 occupies the site which used to house the town's Boots and has entrances on both Sheep Street and High Street. As with most 'spoons it's pretty soulless but being a Lloyds means that the fit out is a cut above the standard 'spoons.
10 handpumps offer 9 real ales and 1 cider and, in addition to the standard Ruddles Best and Abbott, the selection tends to be varied and very good. A recent visit found Oakham Bishops Farewell, Saltaire Trio Pale, which was excellent, and Marstons Old Empire IPA amongst others. Also, unlike most 'spoons, the beer tends to be well kept and in good condition.
Deserves it's GBG 2011 listing and worth a visit for the ale selection if in Rugby.
