Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bottle & Glass

Traditional three-room pub faithfully transported to and rebuilt in the Black Country Living Museum. Authentic furniture and basic decor in the compact bar and front snug, with sawdust on the floor, but a bit more upmarket in the rear lounge. Two Sadler's beers - Mellow Yellow and Red IPA - and a cider available from the four handpumps. Not your usual pub, but an essential stop on any visit to the museum.

This is a strange one, the pub originally stood on Brierley Hill Road, Brokmore, next to the landmark sixteen locks on the Stourbridge canal. The pub is thought to have been built around the late 1700’s when the canal was also being constructed, the building was donated to the Black Country Living Museum by Ansells Brewery in 1979, moved brick by brick and rebuilt as the centre piece of the museum village. It has a central corridor with three small rooms, a public bar on the left, a snug on the right and a lounge at the back left. the public bar has a small counter along the back wall with a small stove against the left wall, the snug has an inglenook fire place with large grate in the right hand wall and wooden settles against a thin wood panel dividing wall, the lounge looks like a middle class Victorian living room with a nice cast iron fire place in the left wall, a large side board with built in mirror and a piano against the back wall with a couple of potted plants. There is a cobbled court yard with picnic tables at the back right of the pub.

Regular ales are generally Holden’s Bitter and Banks’s Mild although these have been known to change for a short while occasionally, the Holden’s was in good condition. There are no pump clips, just plain hand pulls as the pub would have had around 1900 (shame the prices aren’t of the same period!), a chalk board on the wall behind the counter simply states Bitter and Mild. Holden’s bottled beers were also available.

A fantastic traditional spit and sawdust pub overflowing with history and character, I agree that having a drink in here is a little strange as people walk around the rooms looking at everything including you as if you are part of a display! Although this is a great pub I’m not sure whether it should be on this review site as you must first pay around £14.00 to get in the museum before you can enter the pub. If you do visit the museum then this place is a must.

Old Boots left this review about Bottle & Glass

Famous old Black Country pub rebuilt in the Living Museum, however this is a pub not just an exhibit although the opening hours are daytime only. Decorated and furnished in 1910 style, the front bar is a plain tap room with Bitter and Mild on handpump, both from Banks's plus a small range of bottles. The bar parlour is a little more comfortable and has a piano. The beer was very good and as Soupy says you probably don't linger here too long with so much more to see outside, you can also start feel a little like an exhibit yourself with people popping in just to look round.... buy a drink you tight gits.

have visited this place a fair bit, for professional reasons - I even appeared on their TV advert last year!

The pub dates to the early 19th cent and originally stood on the canal at the Stourbridge locks. The pub has several rooms, that at the back being an extension. The front of the pub dates to the 1870s. It has wooden seats, as you would expect. The service is friendly and the place aims to capture the historic experience, with sawdust on the floor and landlord dressing the part, although it is perhaps too clean!

The pub is not a place people stay all day - its in a museum, hence the drinks are £3.00 a pint or bottle - not cheap for MILD. The pub had Banks's MILD and bitter on cask, with Holdens MILD, bitter, Golden Glow and Old Pardoe's Bumblehole in bottles (both local breweries). The beer is good and we were served in proper glasses.

If at the museum, you have to pop in for one, as its part of the experience. Just enjoy
