Soup Dragon left this review about The Village

A detached, typically unaesthetic 1960s pub, with a front patio area.

The interior has two rooms and has been refurbished since my last visit over a year ago. The bar is in a tidy white and green(gone the peeling/ripped wallpaper) and it retains its pool table and TV, now a flat screen on the far wall, which was showing the football. This room was busy with a mixed clientele. The lounge is in a half peach and salmon kind of colours, with white ceiling - it looks tidy enough, perhaps the carpet the only thing looking a bit tired. There are Wolves memorabilia and plain mirrors on the walls. There is a pool table and dart board and a large pull down screen TV, which was showing the football on ESPN, that covered a small stage kind of area. The service was really friendly this time and the clientele here, a good mix of ages. There was no music.

Beer; tap stuff only, no real ale, with Highgate MILD on keg, this time being pretty decent.

I can't begin to say how much this visit was better than the last, either i hit it on a bad day last time, or it has dragged itself up. The shame is, like several Wednesfield pubs, that i am a real ale fan and they only sell keg beer, but now i would happily pop in for one.
