As Michael says below, the Club membership is intended for retired members of the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy, but the bar is open to non-members. The original building, built in 1851, was destroyed by bombing in 1941, and the current building replaced it in 1952. The left side of the building is Horatio's Restaurant, while accommodation and other members-only facilities are upstairs and at the back. The Victory Bar is off to the right of the impressive entrance. The bar is small, pleasant and comfortable, but it has no real ale. The staff were friendly enough, while there was a large group of Polish sailors being loud in one corner. It's a handy place to drop in if you're in the area, but I wouldn't include on a crawl.

Despite the name it is open to public, bar & food
Was formerly the Royal Sailors Home Club, and is locally often still called just "The Home Club"
Handy if visiting the Dockyard
