Serving the nearby Holiday Inn, this is a Vintage Inns place with the usual whimsical stylings and muzak, quite middle class but nice enough. Two distinct buildings are therefore two different rooms, though I only got to see the right hand one in any detail. The nice front garden, overlooked by mature trees, looked like a great place to have a sunny summer’s day pint. We ate here and the food was fine. Four pumps at the bar but only one on, a decent Rev James (NBSS 3) which oddly I had to pay for separately as “their system doesn’t like it” when you try and order it with food. God help us.

Modern purpose-build eating house on edge of industrial estate, in Vintage Inns group. Actually not bad of its type - the food was well above average and it seems to have changing guest ales (Cask Marque listed) as well as particularly helpful staff. Also has quite a nice outside area, albeit a bit close to main road. A reasonable place to eat and quite tolerable for a drink.

The Dragonfly is well known in Newport and across Gwent as a good country pub. we are easily accessible from Newport and Cardiff. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires, freshly prepared food, a good selection of real ales and a wine menu for you to choose from.
