Five people were found guilty of illegally demolishing this Grade II listed pub in 2021. (see https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/23170416.five-people-guilty-illegally-demolishing-punch-bowl-inn/). Prior to the trial Ribble Valley Borough Council had ordered the pub to be rebuilt.

The Punch Bowl is now open again after quite a lengthy closure, serving traditional homemade food, with packed lunches available for walkers. The pub which is reputedly haunted dates back to 1793 has a colourful history with the most famous ghost being the notorious highwayman Ned King.Ned joined forces with the landlord of the pub in an elaborate and ingenious plot to rob people of there valuables. They continued their criminal activities for several years until Ned was caught and hung for his crimes.Ned Kings ghost has been seen many times at the pub mainly in the Minstrels Gallery.
