Blackthorn _ left this review about Cavendish Bazaar

One of many pubs in this popular strip running up to the pier, this one has been countless things over the years, including a spell as a Japanese restaurant before reopening as a pub. None of them seem to last more than a few months, and despite trying to get in on several occasions previously, I’ve always found them closed again by the time I have got around to it. I finally managed it, though whether this one will last any longer remains to be seen. Their strapline is “Coffee Wine Cake Cocktails” which rather suggests their target demographic is not your traditional beer drinker.

It's actually reasonably pleasant inside, and it appears as though they may have spent a bit of money on refurbishing it. The flooring is some sort of faux wood strip with embossed red wallpaper on much of the walls as well as some small sections of wood panelling. A few pieces of artwork hung on the walls, a mixture of generic country scenes and masterpieces that had been graffitied, such as the Mona Lisa with “Beauty is in the eye of the wine holder” sprayed over it. Seating was a mixture of basic metal framed padded chairs, fitted leather banquettes and high stools. A number of beer barrels, both traditional wood, and highly polished metal were something of a feature in the entranceway, and there were also stairs here leading to an upper level, although we did not investigate this.

Unfortunately, there were no real ales on tap, or indeed much at all in the way of beer as far as I recall, although I did spot a Brewdog stout. The solitary cider meanwhile was Thatcher’s Gold. Overall, they’ve not done a bad job, the barman was friendly, and it certainly feels more upmarket than many of the trashy bars nearby, but the disappointing drinks selection means that I’m unlikely to be rushing back.
