I’ve become very impressed with Crown Carveries as the food is pretty good and it is less than £4 for a huge roast dinner from the carvery. Tables are crammed in and there is a large car park to store the motors of the aging diners and young families. No real ale was available during my recent visit, but I did enjoy a decent half of Guinness which was served politely by the barmaid.

I wouldn’t make a point of returning here just for a beer, but I’d certainly pop back in for some more cheap nosebag.

This place is cheap and cheerfull, that includes the customers as well as the goods, but well worth a visit. The carvery is very good value. The lager is better than the beer and the wine better value than that. The place is very busy with extended families. Old grannies totter back from the carvery with hot food while little kids run riot. You can hardly bare to watch.
Wheel chair access is good all round, however the car park can be very full.Give it a visit if you can, ignore being a snob.
