Steve C left this review about The Black Swan

Pease Pottage is best known for the services at the foot of the M23 where it becomes the A23. Just around the corner from these services, and a far more pleasant space is the Hall and Woodhouse Brewery owned Black Swan. The interior is new, but quite rustic with wooden pillars and beams throughout the pub. To add to the countryside feel hops hang from the roof beams in the bar area to the left of the entrance. This large L-shaped bar houses seating that runs along the front and left hand windows. There is also a log burner in a fireplace and full bookshelves for those with lots of time on their hands. In the front right is a room full of seating and at the rear is a large restaurant with table service. The maître d'hôtel is positioned by the entrance to the restaurant to show people to their seats. There are no televisions, which isn’t surprising, but some low background music was playing in the bar area. A premium keg selection is available from the bar that supports four handpumps. Two of these were off leaving Tangle Foot and Fursty Ferret as the cask ale options.
I found the service to be polite, but this is the sort of place my family used to take our nan to for dinner on her birthday. I’ll not be seeking this pub out just for a beer again.
