Very smart pub, tv for sport enthusiasts. 2 real ale taps, at this time only one on. Music playing over the speakers, staff choice but I'm not compaining. Very friendly everyone seems to know everyone else. I'm not a regular but I don't feel an outsider.

There were two real ales on in here - Doom Bar and Robinson's Overhang (£3.45 a pint). There was no sign of any food on a Tuesday afternoon.

This pub retains its original layout. A small vestibule at the front leads to rooms on either side of it. The left hand room is basically furnished with normal tables and chairs with brewer's rustic decor including false beams on the ceiling and walls. There's a dartboard and a large screen TV in here. The room on the right is more comfortably appointed, with a carpeted floor, better quality furnishings including upholstered fixed bench seating, and more wall decor such as prints and the like. But there was a TV in here showing the horse racing.

Much of the interior is inter-war I reckon, including the fielded paneled bar counter. It's got a very traditional feel to it, and a rarely seen (in London anyway) Robinson's beer other than Trooper is a big plus. I liked this pub.
