The Horseshoe Inn has a U-shaped bar counter that protrudes from midway up the right hand wall serving bars to the front and rear. In the front is a pool table, some high tables and booth seating along the left wall. At the rear is more seating and a DJ booth adjacent to a large stage area, so I guess discos and live music are held here at the weekend. Televisions are located throughout for watching football. My visit was on a recent Tuesday evening when it was quiet apart from a few geezers and their birds who were loud and seemed to be very friendly with the management. This place is decked out to a good standard so imagine if gets very busy in here of a weekend.

A fairly attractive black and gold exterior. A decent semi-separate main bar at the front with bookshelf and bar billiards and - a new one on me - wood panelling wallpaper (not quite as a naff as it sounds in context). Note the lovely original stained glass window uppers. There’s a sizeable rear area for sports with pool, 3x dart boards and multiple TVs showing footy, with rugby being shown in the front bar, so an amicable and sensible way to keep people happy. This space is also set up for live music/gigs and indeed a comedy night was advertised. A further dog leg raised rear area leads to decent patio garden with projector TV. Notably friendly service and two ales on; Sharps Atlantic and Marstons New World, the latter of which was in super condition. Fairly busy on Saturday afternoon compared with other nearby outlets and the patrons (a mixed bunch from the social spectrum) were affable and clearly enjoying themselves, as did we. A real surprise this one, Desmond and I both said we’d be in here a fair bit if we were local. Well done the owners.

The Horseshoe Inn is a decent looking town pub, just the sort of pub i like going in,this was another early opener.
Once inside there was an oblong shaped area to the front with the bar facing, the floor was bare boarded, there was some comfy bench seating to the left and a few comfy looking chairs and tables near the windows, which were ideal for watching the world go by,there were two TVs showng the aftermath of the rugby.
There is a much larger area to the rear, this had a pool table to the rear and a large raised area to the left which had lots of normal tables and chiars.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Wychwood Full Brazillian which went down very well on a warm day,the other beer was Otter Sevelle.
This is the sort of pub i could settle in for a good session.
