This is a lovely old three-roomed pub on the way back into town from the Hop Pole. The pub sign seems to make clear that it is named in honour of Charles II, and it looks old enough to be original (the pub, not the sign). The interior is not though, as the front rooms have clearly been opened out to some extent. The back room is where the bar counter will be found, with four hand pumps (see photo). I went for the Three Tuns XXX Pale, which was in very good condition. This is a proper old fashioned village local, the sort where a passing stranger is immediately accepted as one of the company. There's mostly traditional seating, though there are deep sofas in the room to the right. Definitely worth that long pull up the hill from the town centre.

A well deserved ten in my opinion, even taking into account our herculean trek up Wyre Hill. Five handpumps with four in use on our Friday lunchtime visit serving Bewdley Worcestershire Way, Bewdley Platinum Gold, Butty Bach and Enville. We went for the two Bewdley beers which were in top class condition, in fact unbelievable condition. Sorry I didn't try their homemade cobs and pies on this visit. Definitely a good destination pub this one.

I've lived within 3 miles of this pub for 50 years and there is a reason why this has been my first ever visit. That hill from town is a killer :-)

But its worth it for the oldest pub in bewdley - a terrace set amongst similar cottages. Large beer garden. A labyrinth of an interior to get there.

Lovely people running the pub and the Three Tuns XXX was in perfect condition. I can only assume the butty bach and Bewdley brewery ones were also.

This property is not to be confused with the eponymous hotel on the Kidderminster Road.
This is an excellent traditional local pub. Paul, the landlord is rightly proud of his award-winning cellar of well-kept beers.
