Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Samson Blewitt

Estate pub, located in a small suburban precinct, but appearing to be thriving with plenty of customers in early on a Wednesday evening, both eating and drinking. The slightly split-level lounge / dining area and the separate bar (with pool table) have fairly anonymous furniture and decor, but all is well maintained. A patio beer garden can also be found at the back. Seemingly an unbranded Marston's house, with Pedigree and Banks's Amber available from the various handpumps on the two counters. Overall, a mildly pleasant surprise.

UPDATE: While its surroundings are dull, this 1980s pub is a nice example of a pub of this date (I am sure that will course a few smiles). Lounge and bar, both in plain brick, with the lounge for food (didn't eat) and the bar for pool, darts and TV. Ephemera and mining photos are commonplace. It has a couple of real ales, Courage Directors and Banks's Bitter (decent). Straight-forward place.

March 2010: A modern, detached Banks’s pub, in brick and white render, with patio

The interior was open plan, with a lounge area up one end and a bar area, where I was, at the other. The décor is in plain brick, with a few pictures, so if felt a little bare. There was a pool table and a dart area, with Sky TV as well, although my seating meant I couldn’t really see the TV. The service was functional, the clientele were mixed, from families to mature types, with toddlers walking around the pool table.

Beer; tap stuff, with a decent enough Banks’s MILD, with Banks’s bitter on handpull.

A general place really, which, to someone of my tastes, just lacks a guest real ale to go with the Banks's.
