The Stocks Tavern has a central U-shaped bar counter that serves the public bar to the right and slightly larger bar to the left. The public bar houses a dartboard and there were some children playing pool during my late Tuesday afternoon visit. This is a horse racing pub so the televisions in both bars were tuned into Sky Racing, with some of the locals watching intently. The left-hand bar has an L-shaped serving counter up the right wall that faces banquette seating in the front window and high seating to the left. In the left front is a part partitioned area with more seating and a large television above a fireplace. Available from the bar was a standard keg range alongside Birra Moretti and San Miguel. One of the three hand pumps was in operation drawing Bank Top’s Dark Mild. I found the service to be friendly and thought the pub was quite comfortable, which can’t be said for most pubs with racing on during the day. I’d pop back in if passing.

Very average pub. It consists of 2 rooms, left and right. The room to the right is a very basic room housing a pool table. The slightly better looking room to the left is larger but just as grim. Appropriately a picture of the crap Charlie Chaplin covers the toilet door. No real ale.
