Blue Scrumpy left this review about Queen of Bradgate

The Queen of Bradgate was the first new pub we visited on our May bank holiday trip to Leicester. Ironically, it's one of 3 pubs all nextdoor to one another on the High Street. The only one I'd been in previously was the High Cross.

This pub has quite a wide frontage and stretches back a fair way too. There were bouncers on the door for our afternoon visit, but they didn't cause any trouble. Inside, it is quite dark with lots of dark wood. There is also seating on a second floor and on a terrace at the rear.

A couple of real ales were on at the bar, which were Hollow Stone Oligo Nunk & Shipstone's Original. The Oligo Nunk was pleasant and I quite enjoyed my visit here. It was busy and lively, but not overcrowded like the High Cross a couple of doors up.

Will Larter left this review about Queen of Bradgate

A typical town centre drinking barn on a shopping street with other examples to compete against, including a 'Spoons. Which was inevitably busier than this was. The bar, with just one person serving at the time of my midweek mid-afternoon visit, has eight hand pumps, but only three ales and a perry were available. The beers were Navigation Nippon, Sharps Doom Bar and Everards Tiger. Having just had a Tiger at the Old Horse, I went for the same beer, but it was not in such good condition.
