Quinno _ left this review about Railway

Ventured in here in the early evening as a wind-down after yomping up the nearby(ish) Cader Idris. This a quiet pub that probably sprang up in the 1800’s to serve Abergynolwyn railway station, which was originally a terminus for passenger trains on the Talyllyn Railway. There are two rooms, the left for drinking and the right focussed on dining (lights switched off!). The left bar was a classic cosy pub throwback but was tidy and well-maintained. There were a couple of ales on the go though I forget exactly which – I’m fairly sure one was a Greene King which was a surprise to see in these parts. Both of them drank well. On a cold evening the fire was on and it was a nice, relaxing visit albeit in the company of only two other people as the place was very quiet. A tidy place with a couple of nice beers, would recommend.
