Blue Scrumpy left this review about White Rose Hotel

Hotel with a bar and restaurant in the centre of Askrigg. Whilst it was quiet, there were more customers here than in the other village pubs. Two other tables were required. An elderly couple were sat at one table, whilst a group of 6 had gathered for a family meal at another table. All were in the main bar area. FA Cup football was showing on a TV in the corner. There was also a dartboard.

To the rear is a conservatory for dining, with a further room for dining off beyond the conservatory.

3 real ales, all from Wensleydale, were on - Falconer, Gamekeeper & Lost Weekend. The latter was a brand new beer and was easily the best beer I tried in the 3 Askrigg pubs. Whilst this place does not have the character of the Kings Arms, I cannot fault the beer condition.

Our hotel for the evening. World class breakfast :-)

Interesting receptionist. Couldn't tell whether she was teasing me or being serious.

A couple of the Yorkshire Dale Brewing Company ales were on. This was the discovery of the Inn Way and brewed in Askrigg behind the hotel so perfect condition.

Story and photos at my walking blog - http://mappiman.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/120416-day-2-yorkshire-dales-inn-way.html.

Old Boots left this review about White Rose Hotel

Hotel in the middle of the village, there is a single bar with a conservatory for dining and a formal dining room beyond. To the left on entering is a pool room. The bar is fairly typical for the Dales, plain white walls, interesting prints of local interest mainly of Wensleydale, a big screen and a darts board. Two excellent ales from Yorkshire Dales, especially the Askrigg Ale, plus tourist's friends Theakston's Best, John Smith Cask and Black Sheep Bitter on the whizzy light up pump. The dining room is quite pleasant being a mix of unusual modern panelling and exposed stone. Punters were the usual mix of tourists and locals.

Steve of N21 left this review about White Rose Hotel

The White Rose Hotel is a 19th century residence, which has been refurbished into a family-run hotel. Both the restaurant and bar are open to non residents. Have stayed here many times over the last few years and the accommodation is comfortable with the character you would expect from a multi roomed 19th century house. The restaurant is housed in a large conservatory at the back of the building and usually provides good meals at a reasonable price. One key aspect is the main bar which as mentioned is open to non residents and as well as serving the usual Theakston and Black Sheep ales is also an outlet for the beers from the Yorkshire Dales Brewing Co, which is a micro brewery located in a shed behind the Hotel. So as the barrels only have to travel over the dry stone wall of the car park at the back they tend to be fresh. But the main advantage of the White Rose Hotel is that it is equidistant between the two Askrigg village pubs, so if you come out the Kings Arms and are struggling with climbing the hill to the Crown , then a quick one in the White Rose Hotel usually suffices..
