Real Ale Ray left this review about Anchor Inn

Farm worker William Taylor was the first landlord of the Anchor which opened in 1840. This family run pub stretches back some 77 years in the same hands and some of the original tables remain, which were purchased in the 1920's. The pub consists of a small lobby entrance, which leads into the main lounge and bar on the right and a smaller room on the left. The pub is carpeted throughout and the walls were decorated with some traditional plates and paintings.
Five ales on handpump, we went for the Hobsons Town Crier and 3 Tuns XXX, both were exceptionally well kept. The pub also offers a fine range of generously filled cobs with large side salad on the plate. The pub was busy on our Saturday afternoon visit, with customers enjoying a good pint and a tasty cob, all the customers were friendly and chatty.

Absolutely packed on a Thursday Lunch time. Everyone is eating Cobs :-).

5 Real ales on - two from hobsons, two from Wye Valley and the 3 Tuns that I had. Beer in superb condition. Noticed three CAMRA certificates on the wall.

2 x Cheese and Onion, 1 x Pint and 1 x Diet Coke for around £8. Can't complain at that.
