Barney's has now re-opened under the name Chilli Bar & Kitchen. It's an Indian run establishment with an Indian menu that includes reasonably priced quick bites that can be enjoyed in the pub type seating area at the front. A more formal restaurant area can be found at the back. There is a bar and it is poissible to go in just for a drink. Stella, Guinness, Becks, Cobra and Budweiser were on offer ranging from £3.70 to £4.20. It has a laid back atmosphere with unobtrusive piped music.

Been closed for a few months and the interior has been gutted. A sign in the window says it will be opening soon as the Chilli Bar & Kitchen. Not very soon by the look of it.

Decent little bar/bistro, more focussed on drink than many others in St Albans. I’d been told they had a good bottled selection but I only saw Leffe and Chimay Rouge, with the latter served in a Duval glass which is a bit unforgivable. Paulaner, Fruili , Amstel and other lagers on draught. Football being shown on small screen.
