Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Clifton (JD Wetherspoon)

Not the most impressive cinema conversion, perhaps, but I found this a reasonable-enough 'spoons. The seating areas have a split-level arrangement, with the bar in the lower section at the back, and all fairly standard in terms of furniture and decor. Beer-wise, there were a total of ten real ales available from the two banks of six handpumps. In addition to the usual suspects, there were three from Backyard Brewhouse, including the stout (£1.99), one each from Springhead and Enville, and the Nausta Finnish international brew.

Rather average cinema conversion (as it happens I used to attend the cinema), I don't personally like this type of conversion, all too open & high ceilings. Not as big as you might imagine the serve seemed good (despite the best effort of the locals) and the beer quality very good.

This is a fairly standard conversion of an old cinema. It is not as grand as some of the chain's converted cinemas but on a Saturday afternoon was busy with a varied mix of customers. It was a bit too busy to note everything on the bar, but there were twelve pumps with two available soon and four taken by the usual GK offerings. I went for the Lancaster Black (£2.15) which was in good nick. My big gripe was that there were several kids running amok around the place. I've nothing against children in pubs but this place was too big and busy for the staff to find time to do anything about the irresponsible idiot parents that think it is acceptable to allow their offspring to use a pub as a playground.
From what I've seen in other reviews this isn't just a Spoons issue.

A detached former cinema building, just re-opened after an arson attack i believe. There is a patio area.

The inside is typical spoons - the decor is purples, white and reds and on a couple of levels as you head through the place to get to the bar at the far end, after negotiating the smokers at the entrance. Film star pictures and old local photos decorate the walls. Service was fine, the place full with a mixed clientele, some eating, many just drinking.

Beer; tap stuff and as usual a few real ales on handpull; Abbot and Ruddles, the old favourites, were accompanied by Pedigree, Marston's Old Empire and Hobgoblin - i tried the later, which wasn't great and i left it.

The place looks tidy and the cheapness of the food and beer will pack them in - though yet again, i leave a Spoons beer unfinished.

I thought this place was a cinema showing Wetherspoons but it turned out to be a Wetherspoos pub converted from a cinema.
As usuall for Spoons the pub was very large and had the usuall decor and layout, there was a decent choice of real ales on the bar but i did'nt note these down my drink was decent enough.
