Kro Bar felt a bit like a café bar when I visited on a recent midweek evening. Premium and craft keg were available and four of the five hand pumps were in use drawing three from Brightside Brewing and a Lilley’s cider. The bar area was almost empty, but the covered area down a couple of steps out the back was very busy with a student crowd. Food is available, the all day Full English is £10, the students in this area must be quite affluent. The Brightside Chuck was good, but this isn’t somewhere I’ll be returning to.

Visited again in the run up to Christmas 2021. Felt less like a dentist waiting room on this occasion! Five hand pulls at the bar offering Wainwright, Reinbeer by Brightside, a cider that I didn't make note off, and two pumps were unclipped. Several keg options to go at too, though I went for the Reinbeer which was decent enough. Decent enough to have one and move on.

Visited mid December on a Saturday night. This is the last of the Kro bars and is vastly different to the one that used to be at Piccadilly. There is a bit of a strange atmosphere perhaps resulting from the big high ceilinged building which just reminded me of a dentist's waiting room. Bare board stairs lead to the upstairs area where the toilets are located and a bit of random seating on the landing.

In terms of the beer offering, cask ale and cider were available but we went for Everything's Peachy by ShinDigger, which was on keg.

Not unbearable, but a bit of an odd experience. I don't think the place suits the kind of building it is in.

This was originally the Manchester Temperance building rather ironically. Two rooms, on behind another leading out to a partially covered beer yard at the rear. There are further seats at the front of the pub. Only two ales available, but my pint of Tweed Hopster was in good nick. The barmaid initially claimed that she didn't know anything about the CAMRA discount stated on Whatpub, but then gave me 20p off my pint anyway. This made my pint £2.70 which is great value for around here. Not sure about this place, it has a bit of a strange atmosphere.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Kro Bar

Unlike the other Kro outlets I've visited, this one is housed in a traditional building (a converted mansion of some sort). The bar is located in quite a small ground floor room, supplemented by two upstairs lounges, a covered yard area out back and a large patio seating area at the front. The menu looks quite good, if pricey, but the service left something to be desired. Four of the five handpumps were in operation, with the usual Robinsons offering (Dizzy Blonde on this occasion) plus Allgates California (£3.00) and a couple more from other small breweries.
