Country pub with a couple of rooms and a large garden to the side.

The pub clearly has a good reputation for real ale and cider. Although, it appears that the range was slightly more limited than normal due to the current climate. Hobson's Best & Wye Valley HPA are regular beers. Guests were Hobson's Green Hop & Rowton Meteorite. The two real ciders were Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon & Lilley's Tropical Cider.

It was quite busy on my Wednesday lunchtime visit. But I did notice that opening times would be pushed back to 4pm early in November. That appears to be all academic for now.

Decent pub. I may try to return for one of their cider festivals one day.

First visit yesterday since we used to caravan on the field nearby around 10 years ago to attend cider festivals which the "Tiddly" was famous for. It is a friendly pub with a decent selection of ales, from Wye Valley, Hobsons, Rowton and Greene King. We selected a supurb Hobsons Plum Porter, and Rowtons Starlight which was a wee bit lacking in flavour. Pub itself is cosy and friendly with a large outside area to cater for all including families for when the weather is warmer.

One of the hidden gems in Shropshire , known locally as the Tiddly Wink it was one of the first of the new breed of real ale pubs , a GBG regular for pushing 20 years says it all . Ackward to find , but worth it , you enter into a small room with a tiled floor and a pool table , the bar is down a few steps to the right , its basically C shaped with a TV in one corner and a small dining area on the far side (with a seperate entrance if you dont want to brave the bar) there is a large beer garden with a few swings for the kids and a pagoda for smokers in bad weather . Back in the bar are 5 handpulls serving mostly local ales , Hobsons Best , Salopian Oracle , Wye Valley HPA , Silver Arrow and i had a pint of Rowton Bitter which was exellent , he service was good and the locals friendly , well worth a visit , its a cracking little pub
