Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Edmund Halley (JD Wetherspoon)

Basic 'spoons comprising a medium-size rectangular bar area in a very undistinguished building. Limited choice of beer from the two banks of four handpumps, and on this visit just Ruddles, Doom Bar and Abbot plus Eton Boatman from Windsor & Eton Brewery (£1.99, remarkably 30p less than the last pint of beer I bought in here over nine years ago).

Another day, another 'spoons. You would be surprised if a pub named after Halley didn't have some astronomy themed decor, and this one offers no surprises. There are perhaps less tall tables/tall stools in this one than in most 'spoons I've visited, but otherwise the usual furnishings are crammed in, which is typical 'spoons. It looks like a standard high street shop conversion, but has a large raised area by the windows.

This pub was handily placed to provide my companions and I with a late traditional breakfast before embarking a rigorous day of pub research.

The Edmund Halley is named after the geezer that spotted the comet which was given his name. It's a fairly standard medium sized suburban shop conversion with just eight pumps. Two were taken by the usual GK beers and the other six had festival ales on. My Adnam's / Stone Black IPA was in excellent condition.

This is a below average Spoons that I wasn't impressed with at all. I think the powers that be need to close it down for a week or two and give it a refurbishment. Also, it may be due to the area that the clietele leave a lot to be desired.

A fairly small Wetherspoon's but not one of their better pubs. A bit worse for wear and could do with a makeover. A couple of guest ales on tap.
