Blue Scrumpy left this review about Il Rosso

Formerly called the Plough (as in Alan's picture; note the Talbot still exists across the road), Il Rosso is a bar/restaurant on the busy Nottingham Road heading out of Mansfield. With so many retail parks around, it's amazing that it still stands. Open all day everyday, it tries to appeal to all. With Italian food served, it even opens for breakfast.

Real ales were Black Sheep Best Bitter & Timothy Taylor Landlord. The pub is fairly open plan with a number of pillars breaking up the space. TVs were showing live World Cup cricket as the Aussies were struggling against the Afghans.

When i visited this pub it was called The Talbot, the pub is situated on the busy nottingham road just south of the town centre.
Once inside this was a very smart and comfortable pub,the room i had a drink in was carpeted and had comfy bench seating.
The pub was a Whitbread tied house at the time of my visit, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Pedigree which went down well, the other beer was Boddingtons bitter.
This was quite a nice pub to have a drink in.
