Another former Wetherspoon's cinema conversion in the rather grotty town centre of Sutton-in-Ashfield. There were a fair few alcoholics trawling the streets of Sutton drinking high percentage cans of cider. The slightly better off alcoholics seemed to have congregated here for their weekday afternoon session.

The high ceilinged interior has a number of TV screens, including a particularly large screen on a wall near the front door, presumably meant to imitate the cinema screen from the building's previous use.

Wetherspoon's usuals - Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best & Sharp's Doom Bar were all on. Guest beers were Ringwood Forty Niner, Acorn Gorlovka, Bradfield Farmer's Brown Cow & Farmer's Irish Dexter & Loddon Bamboozle.

I enquired about ciders and was relayed a list of fizzy and bottled ciders. The bar manager intervened and said that they don't stock real cider. So I opted for the Farmer's Irish Dexter instead.

This one is clearly a large former cinema but between that and JDW taking it over it was also a bingo hall and a night club.
There's not much inside to show it was a cinema as it's really just a long room that tapers at the rear and has typical fixtures and fittings. I wasn't particularly happy about seeing an A board by the bar advertising BT Sports and Sky Sports which should have no place in any JDW. Happily at the time nothing was showing.
There are ten hand pumps which had the JDW Trio Of Doom doubled, Phoenix Moonshadow, Sharp's Atlantic, Stonehenge Danish Dynamite and Woodforde's Electric IPA. I went for the Danish Dynamite which was in good nick.
Although this was a reasonable Spoons the TV Sport would put me off returning plus the fact that this particular Sutton isn't the easiest place to get to.
