Brainy Pool left this review about The Waiting Room @ Queen Hotel

pretty boring bar of prominent hotel outside Chester station, it dispensed two real ales from Weetwood of which Cheshire Cat was fine. not pub like but with a nice range of seating it’s comfortable enough to wait in here before your train and less rowdy than the Town Crier.

As noted, this is the public bar for a hotel therefore its quite different from its neighbouring, more down to earth pub, The Town Crier, opposite. A quite plush room is accessed via the City Rd entrance and is to your right. A couple of real ales were available. Not really a place to go unless you're staying here or waiting for a train.

Rex Rattus left this review about Waiting Room Bar (Queen Hotel)

This is the bar in the hotel in which we stayed. Despite the heritage credential of the Queen Hotel, this felt very much the hotel bar which it is. But it’s comfortably furnished, and usually does a couple of real ales although only Cheshire Cat was on when I looked in. You can eat in here - not that we did, but the condiments on the tables was the clue.

The main plus for this bar is that it’s very handily placed for the train station, and has its own entrance to the street in City Road. I expect that I might end up in here again.

Michelle Holmes left this review about Waiting Room Bar (Queen Hotel)

Function rooms are smart and general appearance of the hotel is lovely. However the bar that is the Waiting Room is considerably less decadent. The staff were poor by any bars standards, there werw only 4 people in the bar yet we waited over 20 minutes to be served, there was no acknowledgement to cus.tomers who were waiting and there were 2 bar staff on. The tables were awash with spilled drinks and used glasses, I understand that they had been busy with weddings etc prior to our visit, if the staff had been clearing tables it may have been acceptable to wait afew minutes but they were not. Priorities need instilling. The beers are overpriced although a good selection. Unfortunately this visit will be our last to the Waiting Room.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Waiting Room Bar (Queen Hotel)

This bar is part of the Best Western hotel, a four star establishment directly across from the station. A very handy place to pop in whilst waiting for your train, as I saw a few others had the same idea. The only drawback was the price of the Weetwood Eastgate Ale at £2 a half! Nevertheless, the beer was in good condition, staff friendly and the surroundings very comfortable.
