A very noisy backstreet boozer on a corner. A very interesting piece of architecture, this one-off building was constructed in 1900 as part of the old Pike Spicer brewery complex of which not much no remains. It stands on its own small plot, is of brick and iron construction and is now a busy and very noisy local. The downstairs rooms have been conjoined to form a single large, round bar with a pool table, TVs showing current programmes, gaming machines and what must be the most abominable karaoke ever. The staff were friendly enough, but the insane screaming from the morons and other associated misfits (there didn't seem to be a single normal human among the indigents) was so loud and atrocious we were driven away after a single pint of Sea Fury, the only ale on offer. Sadly the experience was such that I have no desire to return, not even after the noise induced deafness has faded.
