Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about White Rabbit

Very interesting old building with white weatherboarding which used to be the officer's quarters of the former Invicta Barracks. Plenty of space with a wide range of seating in a number of different rooms and bar areas. Also has a large patio area at the front which is a pleasant spot in decent weather. Accommodation available. Three real ales on handpump, with Doom Bar, Brakspear Bitter and Spitfire (£3.74) available on this visit. Pretty good for a 'chain' pub (Vintage Inns being one of M&B's brands).

The White Rabbit advertises “country pub and dining” and rooms are available from £50 a night. There is plenty of parking and there is lots of seating outside the front of the pub which is separated from a main roundabout by a row of trees. Inside this large establishment there are lots of small areas for ‘intimate’ dining and the bar isn’t really designed to be sat or stood at. It was quite busy on the recent Tuesday afternoon I visited and most people were eating even though lunch had finished two hours previous. Spitfire, Moor Beer Company’s Revival and Doom Bar were the three ale choices and Peroni was also available alongside a standard draught selection. I didn’t read any menus, but the sausage and mash on the specials board came in at £9 which is reasonably priced considering the surroundings – this aint no Dog and Duck. Christmas lunch was being heavily advertised, it must be approaching that time of year, and there were far too many buggies for there not to have been some sort of mothers meeting.

This is a food led “pub” that I can imagine being a nice place to sit back and read a book over a pint or two. Not really my sort of place, maybe I’ll take the misses if we ever end up in Maidstone together.

It’s a rather posh place with lots of nooks and crannies. Whilst pleasant enough, it’s not really my cup of tea, but I’ll score it 7/10 which is (on my scale) better than average.
