A very large corner pub but rather basic with a choice of ale from either London Pride or ESB, very busy with locals on a Sunday afternoon but not much to interest a casual passer by such as myself.

They had Pride and ESB on in here, which I guess is to be expected in a Fuller's pub. I didn't see any sign of food or menus on Wednesday afternoon.

This is a large corner-site pub where all the old doorways show its original multi-room format. But it's opened up now of course, with the drinking areas all inter-connected. The focus is the island servery towards the front of the pub. At least it was when my chums and I dropped in, when the half dozen or so punters in were on stools ranged along the bar counter. There's a pool table in the old Private Bar area at the front of the pub, with an enormous TV at the far end of the pub on the left. There are no heritage features left inside other than the leaded light glazing in the upper parts of the windows featuring stylised bees. A rather nice feature indeed.

Furnishings are mainly normal tables and chairs; the floor's modern replacement boards, and the bar counter also looks a modern piece. By Fuller's standards this one's quite unremarkable inside. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with the pub, although I accept it's not easy to judge a pub based on a midweek afternoon visit, but I doubt whether I'll be paying a return visit.

There is a limited range behind the bar, Pride/ESB/Strongbow/Carling/Fosters/Stella and Guinness (may have missed a couple), in this rough round the edges boozer. There is a pool table and a TV which I'd imagine shows Sky Sports, but there's not much else going for this pub.

My pint was a little tangy, which made my mind up that I wouldn't go back as this pub falls short when compared to other pubs in the local vicinity.
