Called here when passing through, mainly because there happened to be a parking spot outside. As Quinno says very hotel bar but not completely sterile. We would have sat in the lovely garden if it wasn't for the freezing April (!) drizzle. The beer quality hasn't improved, soupy Cotswold Way which I was in two minds about sending back. It looks like a very nice hotel to spend a night or two, but I'd venture elsewhere for a beer.

Old and historic building from the outside but inside is a large upmarket bar/brasserie. Take the left door in the entrance lobby to the Beagle Bar, an L shaped open room done up in tasteful green and burnt orange shades with comfy fabric sofas and tub chairs. Behind the bar is a full wall mural of a pack of beagles. Beyond is a large formal dining conservatory area, leading to a large and carefully manicured rear garden overlooking the church which would demand a summers afternoon pint. Loungey electronica the music of choice. Two Wickwar ales on, my Cotswold Way was certainly less than I expected to pay in these surroundings but alas the quality wasn't great. Given the expensive food menu (cheapest sarnie £6.50!) I can't see much reason to do this one again bar that summer afternoon pint.
